Italian actress Adriana Asti, 94, died in Rome on July 31. She made her first success onstage in Luchino Visconti’s The Crucible (Visconti went on to cast her in Rocco and His Brothers, and Ludwig). From, 1950 – 2018, Asti appeared in more than 81 films and TV shows, including The Best of Youth, Caligula, and Pasolini. Onstage, her vehicles included Saint Joan, Happy Days, The Mistress of the Inn, Three Men for Amalia, French Ferdinand, and her own play, Alcohol. She also dubbed the Italian versions of many Hollywood films. Asti was married three times, to Bernardo Bertolucci, writer Fabio Mauri, and director Giorgio Ferrara.
