Italian actor Alessandro Quasimodo, 85, died on May 2. (No, I am not just covering him because his name was Quasimodo, though that is pretty damned funny). The son of Nobel-winning poet Salvatore Quasimodo and dancer Maria Cumani, Alessandro acted in theaters all over Italy, in everything from Pinter and Albee to Christopher Marlowe. He also toured the world in readings of his father’s writings. Quasimodo appeared in some 30 movies and TV shows, the best-known of which is Fellini’s Roma.
