Actor André Landzaat (General Hospital) died on Sept. 2. He was 81. Born in The Hague, he began acting in France. He played mostly small roles in such series and TV-movies as Laverne and Shirley, Family, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Yellow Rose, Goldie and the Boxer, Beggerman Thief, and All That Glitters, among others. In 1981, Landzaat played Tony Cassadine in 84 episodes of General Hospital (the character’s fan page notes that he “accidentally froze in Mikkos Cassadine's ice chamber,” which is at least more interesting than the usual elevator-shaft death). Landzaat also taught acting, both in the US and the Netherlands. He recently said that "I'm 81 years old and I've never been a depressed person, but it's difficult when your body doesn't always cooperate.” Landzaat is survived by his husband, actor Edward Lesemann.
