Swedish actor Björn Andrésen, 70, died on Oct. 25. Andrésen played the young love object of creepy old Dirk Bogarde in Visconti’s Death in Venice (1971). He was a child model and actor when Visconti shot him to stardom; Andrésen became a pop star in Japan, a touring musician, and acted in more than 30 movies and TV series. He was also the subject of a 2021 documentary, The Most Beautiful Boy in the World. Andrésen told Variety in 2021, “I can separate Visconti from the art . . . When I was a small child, I saw a picture of an atom bomb explosion and thought: ‘Wow, look at that. Look at that beauty.’ Then you get to know what happens with this cloud. But I can separate the beauty of the cloud while at the same time being horrified with what is happening under it.”
