Cheryl Hall, 1950 – 2026

British actress Cheryl Hall, 75, has died, it was announced on Aug. 12. From the late 1960s through the 2000s, Hall was a regular presence om the big and small screens, costarring on TV in Smith, You and the World, Dr. Who (four episodes in 1973), Lucky Feller, Rooms, Citizen Smith, EastEnders, and The Bill. Her big-screen appearances include The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins, Three for All, Deep End, Villain, Catch Me a Spy, The Wild Little Bunch, No Sex, Please—We’re British, and Three for All. Hall was also involved in politics, as a member of the Kent County Council, as Leader of the Labor group; she also ran for Labor candidate for the Canterbury constituency in the 1997 general election. She was married to actor Robert Lindsay from 1974-80. Her costar and one-time boyfriend Robin Askwith wrote, “What a force of nature she was. A really innovative working class, charismatic actress coming out of the late '60s. Brave in every way.”
