Dan Ziskie, 1944 – 2025

Character actor Dan Ziskie, 80, died on July 21. Ziskie got his start with Detroit’s Second City comedy group. Moving to New York, he appeared on Broadway in Morning’s at Seven, I’m Not Rappaport, and After the Fall. He had a very busy career in films and TV beginning in 1980. Ziskie most famously played CJ Liquori on Treme and Matthews on House of Cards; his many other varied credits include Newhart, St. Elsewhere, Murphy Brown, Sex and the City, Chappelle’s Show, The West Wing, Adventures in Babysitting, Thirteen Days, and Synecdoche, New York. Ziskie also photographed and collected a large gallery of New York street photography, which was published as Cloud Chamber.
