David Sheiner, 1928 – 2026

Actor David Sheiner, 98, died on June 5. Sheiner had small supporting roles in The Greatest Story Ever Told, They Call Me Mister Tibbs!, Blue Thunder, The Odd Couple (as one of the poker-playing buddies), and The Stone Killer. From the 1950s-80s, he turned up in such TV shows as Combat!, Columbo, The Big Valley, The Twilight Zone, Medical Center, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Hawaii Five-O, Mission: Impossible, Vega$, and The Fugitive.  He also appeared on Broadway in a small role in Jayne Mansfield’s star-making Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?. Sheiner’s family wrote, “From his heart he was a father, father-in-law, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor. In his last days, his concerned kids asked him if he was comfortable. ‘I Make a Living,’ he replied.”
