General Hospital actress Denise Alexander, 85, died on March 5. Alexander played Dr. Lesley Williams from 1965-84 (with frequent guest appearances thereafter) on General Hospital, and also appeared on the soaps Days of Our Lives and Another World. The daughter of an agent, she was already a pro by age 14, appearing on TV, radio, and films. Besides her soap work, Alexander was seen in Father Knows Best, The Danny Thomas Show, Dobie Gillis, The Virginian, Hotel, and many others. She also appeared on Broadway in The Children's Hour, and ran an antiques shop and worked as a photographer. Alexander was married to director Richard Colla, who died in 2021. “I had such a wonderful time on Days,” Alexander said. “It was like going to camp every day for me. I loved the people, loved the show, and loved what I got to do. They loved the character and liked me as an actor and gave me lots of neat stuff to do. I didn’t even ask for a vacation for five years because if I worked 365 days a year, I thought it was great.”
