eShakti, 2011 – 2025

I was just about to order a long cotton summer jacket from my favorite online retailer, eShakti; I was having a hard time getting the website to load, so I Googled and found that they have closed down operations. I am bereft! With the death of so many department stores (how I miss Lord & Taylor, Altman’s, Wanamaker’s, Strawbridge’s), eShakti was my go-to site for well-made clothes—they even customized hem and sleeve length! Where is a chic lady of a certain age to find grown-up clothing (not “perspiration suits”) made from good materials? I may have to become a nurse or a nun or a riveter just for the uniforms.
