Character actor Floyd Levine, 93, died on Aug. 24. Levine supported himself as a cab driver while starting out his acting career; by the early 1970s he was getting bit parts and supporting roles in both films (Death Wish, Dog Day Afternoon, Night Shift, Airplane II, To the Limit, Norbit, The Hangover) and TV (Wonder Woman, Police Squad!, Charlie’s Angels, Hill Street Blues, Three’s Company, Murder She Wrote, Mad About You). Levine’s son Brian Robbins is a producer and director. His daughter-in-law Tracy Robbins posted that Levine died “surrounded by his beautiful family (and probably wishing someone would bring him a martini). The best father-in-law, grandpa, and all-around jokester, Floyd loved Frank Sinatra, classic films, and making everyone laugh.”
