Producer, editor, and director George Folsey, Jr., who often collaborated with John Landis, died on Dec. 29. He was 85. The son of cinematographer George Folsey, the younger George started his career in TV before producing and editing movies. Beginning in 1973, Folsey and George Landis collaborated on numerous projects, including Kentucky Fried Movie, The Blues Brothers, Animal House, Coming to America, An American Werewolf in London, Trading Places, Three Amigos and The Twilight Zone (which got Folsey and Landis tried for triple manslaughter). Folsey also worked on such Landis-free films as Trader Horn, the cringe-making Norman…Is That You?, Cheaper By the Dozen, and Hot Tub Time Machine. Among his survivors is son Ryan, also a film editor.
