Hayden Panettiere, 1989 – 2026

Actress Hayden Panettiere, 36, was found dead in her South Carolina home on Aug. 26; no cause of death has yet been announced. Panettiere started her career as a child actress and model, including supporting roles on One Life to Live and Guiding Light. She appeared in numerous TV-movies (in 2011 starring as Amanda Knox, who did not kill her roommate), and costarring on Ally McBeal, Malcolm in the Middle, Heroes, and Nashville. In the movies, she voiced Princess Dot in A Bug's Life, and appeared in The Dust Factory, Raising Helen, Ice Princess, Racing Stripes, Shanghai Kiss, I Love You, Beth Cooper, Screams 4 and 6, and, most recently, this year’s Sleepwalker. She also had a respectable singing career, and was involved in several causes, most notably protesting whale hunting, and supporting voting rights. Panettiere had a tattoo that said, in Italian, “'live without regrets.” “It's not that you don't regret things in life, but you at least try to learn from them,” she explained. “It's misspelled, too, so I literally have to live by that advice!”
