Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar Ali, 32, was found dead in her Karachi apartment on July 8; an autopsy determined that she had been dead for about 8-10 months (no cause of death was found). Ali studied painting and sculpture at the National College of Arts and the College of Art & Design at University of the Punjab, and began acting at the Rafi Peer Theatre (though she made more money as a fashion model). She appeared on TV in Benaam, Just Married, Chal Dil Mere, Guru, Tamasha (a kind of Pakistani Big Brother), and Ehsaan Faramosh, and was in the movies Jalaibee and Aik Tha Badshah. According to news reports, Ali’s family refused to take in her remains, which “sparked outrage and concern among fellow actors and industry colleagues. Several members of the entertainment fraternity, including actors Yashma Gill and Sonya Hussayn, contacted police expressing their willingness to arrange her burial if the family did not.”
