Scottish actor James Martin, who costarred in the Britcom Still Game (2002-19), died on Feb. 18. He was 93. Martin started his career in the theater (sorry, “theatre!”), making his TV debut in 1982. He appeared in such TV shows as Dr. Finlay, Monarch of the Glen, Taggart, and Lovesick (IMDb lists Martin as appearing in the 2024 Ukrainian series Saving Hearts, but I raise one eyebrow at that credit). Martin, who played “Auld Eric” in Still Game, left the show in 2018: “I asked to be written out," he said, at prodding from his wife. "She said: 'C'mon, let's call it a day.' I've been an actor since the late 1960s. I have done everything."
