Actress Jill Jacobson, 70, died on Dec. 8 after a long illness. She is best known for her continuing roles on Falcon Crest (as a scheming psychiatrist) and The New Gidget (as pal Larue) both in the ’80s. “Jill’s comic timing was brilliant,” said her Gidget, Caryn Richman. “And her enthusiasm and love of life made our time together on set joyful.” Jacobson’s first role was a starring one, in the horror film Nurse Sherri (1977); for the rest of her career she played support, mostly on TV: My Sister Sam, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Quantum Leap, Newhart, Murphy Brown, Arli$$. She continued working till 2020, and more recently started a comedy career, performing at Los Angeles’ The Improv and The Comedy Store.
