Irish comedian and actor Jon Kenny, 66, died on Nov. 15 after a long battle with cancer. He teamed with Patrick Shortt as the comic duo D’Unbelievables in the 1990s, doing tours, films and TV shows. Kenny acted in the legitimate, as well as doing comedy shows and appearing in such films and TV shows as Father Ted, The Van, Les Miserables, Angela’s Ashes, Mrs. Brown’s Boys, and The Banshees of Inisherin. Kenny told the London Times, “In my line of work, there are times when you don’t have any income coming in and you have to be frugal. Other times, you have the money and say feck it and spend. My brother asked me what work I had for the next year and I had nothing. He just looked at me and said, ‘How do you live like that?’ And I said, ‘Tom, you get used to not knowing; it’s the nature of the beast.’ I don’t think I’m different from many musicians, actors and artists. People would get out of the game if they couldn’t handle it.”
