Judy Pace, 1942 – 2026

TV and movie actress Judy Pace, 83, has died, it was announced on March 15. Pace was best known for playing Vickie Fletcher on Peyton Place and Pat Walters on The Young Lawyers, as well as Billy Dee Williams’s wife in Brian's Song. She was also seen in the movies 13 Frightened Girls (her film debut, in 1963), The Oscar, The Fortune Cookie, The Thomas Crown Affair, Three in the Attic, Cotton Comes to Harlem, and Frogs, and just about every TV series of the 1960s-80s (including Tarzan, Sanford and Son, Bewitched, I Spy, The Flying Nun, Mod Squad, Medical Center, Good Times, Ironside). Pace was married to actor Don Marshall and football player Curt Flood; her daughter Julia Pace Mitchell is also an actress. Pace once realistically said that “Producers don’t look for great performances, they look for lines at the box office. If your movie makes money, you get job offers.”
