British blonde bombshell June Wilkinson, 85, died on July 21. By the age of 15, Wilkinson was dancing topless at London’s Windmill Theatre (“I had dreams of being a ballerina, but my breasts got too big, so the Windmill Theatre was perfect.”) and at 18 she was in Playboy, nicknamed “The Bosom” (and yes, there were many “June is busting out all over” jokes). She was snapped up by the movies in those Diana Dors and Sabrina-crazed days, but she never became a star. Wilkinson appeared (usually as a sight gag) in Russ Meyer’s Mr. Tease and His Playthings, and in Career Girl, 77 Sunset Strip, Lover Come Back, The Rage, Batman (as henchwoman to Milton Berle’s Louie the Lilac), The Doris Day Show, and Frankenstein’s Great Aunt Tillie, among others. She was married to NFL quarterback Dan Pastorini from 1972-82. Wilkinson said of her career and public image, “I find it kind of fun to be a sex symbol. When I was growing up, I was not so attractive. So it was fun for me when I first got a body. All of a sudden, people went, ‘wow!’ I enjoyed it, because I'd been ugly for so long. I know that some well-endowed women don't like it when they meet a man and he just focuses on their big breasts, but it never bothered me. Why should I get mad? I've been blessed.”
