Leila Hayes, 1942 – 2025

Australian actress Leila Hayes, 82, has died, it was announced on Jan. 19. She had a long career on stage, radio, TV and movies (Division 4, Power Without Glory, Twenty Good Years, A Country Practice). But her career role was as Beryl Palmer throughout the 1980s soap Son and Daughters. Hayes retired in 1992, with a vengeance, according to Wikipedia: “She lived a private life and rarely attended reunions or conventions.”
