Who would have thought that jumping off an Alp could hurt a fellow? Not poor Liam Byrne, 24, who died on June 21, when his Rocky the Flying Squirrel wingsuit failed to protect him when he jumped off a Swiss Alp and plummeted 7,874 feet. The Scottish-born Byrne was the subject of last year’s BBC documentary The Boy Who Could Fly [sic]. Byrne said that "Even at school I would stare out the window at the seagulls flying and always feeling that sense of envy that they have that freedom to just take off and fly away. Maybe my brain is wired differently to other people's, maybe I deal with fear differently. But I know myself well enough to know that an office job scares me far more than the fear of dying from a base jump or wingsuit flight." As someone who has held many an office job, he ain't wrong.
