Actor Michael Alaimo, 86, died on May 2. The stage, screen and TV character actor started his career onstage in the ’60s, acting with Joseph Papp’s Shakespeare in the Park, also heading his own commedia dell’arte troupe and appearing with Harlem’s Gut Theater. From 1964 through this year’s Sinatra! Eternity, Alaimo was seen in such movies and TV shows as Space Jam, The China Syndrome, Police Woman, Kentucky Fried Movie, Lou Grant, Barney Miller, Hill Street Blues, Cheers, Picket Fences, and Scrubs, among many others.
