Multiple news sites are reporting the death (possibly from dengue fever) of Brazilian child actress Millena Brandão, 11, on May 2. They all say she appeared in the Netflix series Sintonia and the Brazilian shows A Infância de Romeu e Julieta and A Caverna Encantada, but I’ll be gol-danged if I can find her in the credits of any of these. Friends always accuse me of making up people to kill, but in this case, I think the internet is putting one over on us—I have no doubt that a girl named Millena Brandão has died; whether she was a rising young actress or an “influencer” with a padded resume, it’s still very sad.
