Argentinean pop singer Fede Dorcaz, 29, was shot and killed in Mexico City on Oct. 9, as he was leaving a rehearsal. Police are still looking for the killer. Dorcaz and his girlfriend, Mariana Avila, were set to appear on Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy (a Mexican version of Dancing with the Stars). He had hits with such songs as “Cara Bonita” and “Volver a Empezar,” and had been performing at sold-out concerts in Argentina and Mexico. Rolling Stone called him a “rising Latin star ready to redefine global Latin pop.” And in Sick, Sad World news, Welsh singer Ian Watkins, 48, was stabbed to death in jail, where he was serving time for child and animal porn. Watkins was the the lead singer of the Welsh rock band Lostprophets, also performing with the bands Public Disturbance and Blackout. He also made remixes and mix tapes (which I thought was something your 1980s boyfriend did), till he was arrested in 2013.
