Nadia Cassini, an American girl who moved to Italy and became a star of sex comedies, died on March 18. She was 76. Born in Woodstock, NY, to a show-business family, she moved to Italy in 1968. She made her film debut in 1970’s Il Divorzio, and went on to star in several “Commedia Sexy all'Italiana” films through the early ’80s (among her more popular vehicles were Pulp, Starcrash, Ecco Lingua d'Argento, l'Insegnante Balla... con tutta la Classe, and La Dottoressa ci sta col Colonnello). She was married to writer Igor Cassini (thus gaining her stage name) from 1969-72. After being disfigured in a plastic-surgery accident, she moved to France and recorded three albums in the ‘80s. In one of her last interviews, Cassini sighed, “I had the best butt in the world but I didn’t have ass in my life.” ( . . . maybe it sounds better in the original Italian).
