Moroccan-born French actress Nadia Farès, 57, died on April 17, a week after having been found unconscious in a swimming pool in Paris. Born in Marrakech, she moved to France to pursue her acting career, and quickly found success with the 1992 film My Wife's Girlfriends, and costarring in the TV series The Exile. She went on to costar in TV’s Revivre, Marseille, Les Ombres Rouges, The Promise, and Luther, and such films as Wasabi, War, and Storm Warning. Farès is survived by her husband, producer Steven Chaseman, and their two children. She was also a successful singer and songwriter, noting that “My biggest compliment from the audience is when people tell us, ‘I love your album it makes me feel so good, it has such good vibes.’ That is for me the best compliment. My belief is that music has something magical that can change your mood – your state of mind – your way of thinking or moving.”
