Canadian-born actress Olive Sturgess, who costarred in The Bob Cummings Show, died on Feb. 19. She was 91. Sturgess played Carol, the girlfriend of Cummings’s nephew, Chuck (Dwayne Hickman). She also appeared in countless films and TV shows of the 1950s and ’60s, including many early TV anthologies, Roger Corman's The Raven, The Kettles in the Ozarks (as Nancy Kettle), Perry Mason, Sugarfoot, The Donna Reed Show, Wagon Train, Maverick, Petticoat Junction, The Girl from UNCLE, Bonanza, and Ironside. A talented horsewoman, Sturgess acted in many westerns, and performed in rodeos during her off-times. Sturgess was first cousin of the great British actress Joan Benham, who played Lady Prudence Fairfax on Upstairs, Downstairs (and I will maintain to my dying day that Richard should have married Pru after Marjorie died!).
