Italian actor Paolo Bonacelli, 88, died in his hometown of Rome on Oct. 8. Bonacelli was seen in the US in such films as Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, Midnight Express, Caligula, Johnny Stecchino, Mission: Impossible II, and The American. Bonacelli also appeared in more than 100 Italian films and TV series (the most intriguing of which is Topo Galileo, which makes me think of a little Italian mouse discovering that the earth revolves around the sun). He graduated from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, and started his career onstage. Bonacelli and his partner, actress Carlotta Barilli, co-founded the theater company La Compagnia del Porcospino.
