Randy Boone, 1942 – 2025

Actor and singer Randy Boone (The Virginian), 83, died on Aug. 28. Boone (who was a nephew of actor Richard Boone) was traveling around the country as a journeyman musician when discovered in 1962 and cast in the TV series It’s a Man’s World. Besides playing Randy Benton on The Virginian (1964-66), Boone had a recurring role on Cimarron Strip and also turned up on The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Twilight Zone, The Fugitive, Combat!, Bonanza, Lassie, Gunsmoke, and Highway to Heaven, before leaving show business in the 1980s to work in construction.
