Character actor (and palindrome!) Robert Trebor, 71, died of leukemia on March 11. The Philadelphia native hit New York after college, and started his career in theater productions. From 1973-2018, Trebor played supporting or bit roles in such movies and TV shows as The Purple Rose of Cairo, Miami Vice, My Demon Lover, Murphy Brown, Night Court, Out of the Darkness (as David Berkowitz), and Hail, Caesar! He had continuing roles in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, which led to gigs at fan conventions. Trebor told Whoosh! in 2005, “I did many more Hercules episodes than Xena, so perhaps Hercules was more challenging in the long run because there was much more variety and numerous storylines that used my various talents. Of the Xena episodes I remember ‘The Greater Good’ fondly because it was so well written and allowed me many humorous and poignant moments both. There really were no episodes I'd rather forget. There was a fair amount of fun stuff in each of them.”
