Blockbuster movie producer Stanley R. Jaffe, 84, died on March 10. From 1969 through 2002, Jaffe produced such hits as Goodbye Columbus, The Bad News Bears, Kramer vs. Kramer (for which he won an Oscar), Fatal Attraction, Black Rain, and School Ties. The son of movie producer Leo Jaffe, Stanley worked at Seven Arts, Paramount, and CBS, before forming his own production company (though he kept ping-ponging back to Paramount). “What I chose to make as a studio head was professional,” Jaffe said. “What I choose to make as a producer is personal.”
