Sunny Obama, 2012 – 2026

Presidential dog Sunny Obama, the Portuguese Water Dog who lived in the White House from 2013-17, died on Sept. 15. She was 14. Following in the paw prints of such famous White House pets as Fala, Socks, and Checkers, Sunny provided a nice break in politics for White House reporters. “She leapt over the hedges on the South Lawn like they weren’t even there, chasing squirrels, birds and anything else that moved,” said Barack Obama. “But as far as our family was concerned, she was pretty much perfect, and for 13 years, she would be by our side – always loyal, always sweet, always ready for adventure, still fiery and gorgeous till the very end of her days.”
