Terence Donovan, 1935 – 2026

British/Australian actor Terence Donovan, 90, died on July 18. Born in London, Donovan spent his career bouncing back and forth between his native country and Australia. He appeared onstage in such plays as Chicago, West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Oh, What a Lovely War!, Breaker Morant (also in the film version), Miss Julie, Company, Educating Rita, and Follies. On TV, Donovan costarred the series Division 4, Power Without Glory, Hotel Story, Cop Shop, Sons and Daughters, Home and Away, and Neighbors, and did one-offs on many other series. And on the big screen, he was seen in The Getting of Wisdom, Smash Palace, Strange Behavior, The Man from Snowy River, Fortress, Death of a Soldier, Running from the Guns, Horseplay, and Jigsaw. His son Jason Donovan and granddaughter Jemma Donovan are also performers.
