Thomas Ligon, 1940 – 2026

Stage, screen, and movie actor Thomas Ligon, 85, died on June 26. Ligon is best known for his roles in the films Paint Your Wagon, The Last American Hero, Jump, and Bang the Drum Slowly, and he also had recurring roles in TV’s Oz, The Young and the Restless, and Santa Barbara. He got his start acting at Yale, and eventually appeared on Broadway in Have I Got a Girl for You!, Angela, Love is a Time of Day, and Tartuffe; he also acting in numerous Off-Broadway and regional shows. From the 1960s-2010s, he showed up on TV in Medical Center, The Execution of Private Slovik, Police Woman, Charlie’s Angles, Dallas, and Law & Order, among other vehicles. He was married to actress K.C. Ligon from 1976 till her death in 2009.
