Rapper and DJ Anthony Leonard Platt, who performed under the name Unk, died on Jan. 24, age 42. The cause was not announced, but he’d had a heart attack in 2016. The Atlanta native began his career as a DJ in 1998, teaming with Jelly and Montay to form the “Southern Style DJs.” He was signed by record producer Big Oomp (how I would love to have introduced them, Margaret Dumont style!), and eventually recorded such hits as “Walk It Out,” “Show Out,” “Have a Toast,” and “Wait.” Health problems forced him to slow his career by 2009.
