Rapper Jeremiah Justin Simms, who performed as WifiSkeleton, 21, died of a drug overdose on May 5; he had just posted on Instagram that he was “going to overdose tonight.” WifiSkeleton (who also recorded under the stage names *67, Cyrus, FuxkCy, and Helen) was a “sigilkore” artist, which the always reliable AI tells us is “a subgenre of electronic music characterized by its shadowy, occult-inspired aesthetic and sound, often incorporating distorted vocals, soundscapes, and synthesizers.” OK, then! Among his singles were "I Must B Retarded,” "The One Where I Say 1944,” "U Got a Big Stupid Head Full of Nothing,” "Nope Your [sic] Too Late I Already Died,” and his biggest hit, "World's a Fuck Cover," which had previously been recorded by Sematary and Ghost Mountain. “I wanted to be myself and talk about my personal experiences,” WifiSkeleton said of his music. “You can make music on anything—you can make music on a phone.”
