Actor Anthony DiLeo, Jr., (Day of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead) died on Feb. 7. Goodness knows how old he was; the internet is not even guessing. I am spit-balling that he was maybe 70-ish. He died from Covid—please get your vaccines and wear masks when indoors! DiLeo played the frazzled Miguel Salazar in George Romero’s Day of the Dead (1985); he also appeared in Romero’s Two Evil Eyes, Knightriders, Monkey Shines, and Night of the Living Dead, as well as Only You, Bob Roberts, and Lorenzo’s Oil. DiLeo’s Day of the Dead costar Lori Cardille wrote that he “was filled with love for nature, his beloved animals, family and friends and fans. He made me laugh every day while making Day of the Dead. Tim was an accomplished pianist with a beautiful voice.”
