British writer, actor, comic and convicted sex creep Chris Langham, 77, died on June 24. The son of director Michael Langham and actress Helen Burns, he wrote for numerous comedy series, including The Muppet Show, Not the Nine O’Clock News, Spitting Image, Kiss Me Kate, and Help, and acted in Monty Python’s Life of Brian, The Gaffer, Silas Marner, Jackanory, Married…With Children, Carry On Columbus, The Thick of It, People Like Us, and many other vehicles. In 2007, Langham was found guilty of possessing child porn, which, eww eww eww eww. He had been married to actress and politician Sue Jones-Davies and director Christine Cartwright, and of course his career since 2007 has been spotty at best (he served six months in “gaol). “When I'm dead, I'll be perfect,” he once said, “but up until that point . . . I seem to be a slow learner and it's taken me a long time to get that one message, the message that I crave hearing. Not, 'Darling, you were brilliant' but 'You know something, you're OK'. Just to be OK is something I crave.”
