Jamaican-born British TV actor Clifton Jones, 87, died in London on June 4. Moving to London in 1956, he began his career onstage and had his first recurring TV role in Emergency-Ward 10 in the early ’60s. He played computer specialist David Kano on Space: 1999, and was also seen in TV’s Dixon of Dock Green, Orlando, Secret Agent, Z Cars, Quiller, Breakaway, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Jones also appeared in such films as Joanna, The VIPs, Innocent Bystanders, The Great McGonagall, China Moon, and Sheena, and voiced Blackavar in Watership Down.
