British actor turned director David Andrews, 90, has died, his family announced on Jan. 27.   In the 1960s and ’70s, he appeared in such TV shows as Z-Cars, The Avengers, Some People, Dr. Finley’s Casebook, and Legend of Death, also acting in the films Some People, A Place to Go, and Dracula A.D. 1972. While acting, Andrews took the BBC's television training course, and segued into directing. He helmed multiple episodes of The Revenue Men, Stookie, Take the High Road, The Biz, Hollyoaks, and Grange Hill. He also directed directed documentaries for the Police, Prison and Fire Services, the Departments of Employment, Energy and Transport, and recruiting commercials for the Army and Army Aviation, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. Also a theater actor, Andrews was married to actress and director Tamara Hinchco. His family wrote that “In retirement from 2005 David took on cameo roles on television, as well as occasional voice parts. Otherwise he was a regular cinema goer and formed a folk band, Hazy Days (and Nights!), which mostly performed in pubs in Glasgow.”
