Irish actor Finnian Garbutt, 28, died of skin cancer (diagnosed four years ago) on April 17. Garbutt was a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and had acted onstage (he played Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast). He was best known for playing PC Ryan Power on the BBC cop show Hope Street, and also acted on TV’s Casualty, the film Housejackers, and the short To Break a Circle. His Hope Street production company wrote, “He was an absolute joy to work with and he brought a great sense of fun to set every day and was popular with audiences.”
