Comic and voice actor Jeffrey Garcia, 50, died on Dec. 10. He had been in poor health since a cerebral aneurysm, and died of a collapsed lung. Gracia was a popular stand-up comic in the ’90s, and acted in such TV shows and movies as Caroline in the City and Dangerous Minds, till finding his life’s work as a voice actor. He played Sheen Estevez in the Jimmy Neutron series (TV shows, movie, video games), and also voiced characters in Clone High, Ozzy & Drix, ChalkZone, Barnyard, The Proud Family, Happy Feet, and Rio 2. “I was always a goofy kid with attention deficit disorder,” Garcia told interviewer Holly Herndon. “And I can’t sing or dance.” He spoke of the difficulties of stand-up comedy: “there is no subject that is off limits, however there are some words I completely stay away from . . . Key words set people off and you don’t know them. For instance, I could say ‘cucumber’ and somebody could have choked on one or something,” he said. “That’s an extreme example but, as weird as it sounds, it can come out like that.”
