Joshua Allen, 1989 – 2025

So You Think You Can Dance winner Joshua Allen, 36, died on Sept. 30; his family has not released the cause of death. Allen won Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance in 2008, and went on to dance in Step Up 3D, Dance Your Ass Off, and Footloose, and had small acting roles in Community and American Horror Story. He served a year in jail for domestic violence in 2017. Allen told Entertainment Weekly that dancing “so difficult a lot of times, but the main thing about performing is that you have to make it look easy . . . I want to choreograph and hopefully own my own studio and company. As my ultimate goal, I want to own my own record label, and be a producer — things like that.”
