
Singer and songwriter Terry “Buzzy” Johnson (The Flamingos) died on Oct. 8. he was 86. Johnson joined the Flamingos in 1958, staying with them off and on through the decades. He joined Motown in 1963, and also wrote and produced for the Four Tops, the Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas, and the Supremes; he also continued writing and singing into the 2010s. English bass guitarist and singer John Lodge, 82, died on Oct. 10. He was vocalist and songwriter with the Moody Blues, writing their numbers “Ride My See-Saw,” "Isn't Life Strange,” and "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band).” He also recorded and toured as a solo artist. And Thommy Price, drummer for Scandal, Billy Idol, Blue Öyster Cult, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, died in October, at the age of 68. Price was also an in-demand session drummer.
