Luis Solís, 1964 – 2025

I finally found some info on the poor sax player who died in the April 8 roof collapse of the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, along with singer Rubby Pérez and some 150 others. Luis Solis, 61, had been a member of Pérez‘s backup band for many years, as well as teaching music. I guess there is something to be said for dying onstage. But to have a roof fall on you and then to be ignored in the press for more famous people? I can’t even find a YouTube recording of him, as apparently there are 85,000 other Luis Solises who are also musicians!
