A whole passel of foreign actors and actresses have just now died, none of whom I had previously heard of! Italian actor Mauro Di Francesco, 74, died on Oct. 25. He started his career as a child actor, then became a stand-up comic, and appeared in several teen comedies. He also was seen on TV and onstage. Cuban actress Miram Learra, 88, died on Oct. 25. Although she acted in films and on TV, Learra was best known for her stage work, primarily with the Teatro Estudio and the Hubert de Blanck Company. Italian actor Franco Mari, 78, died on Oct. 25; Mari was best known for his comic roles and parodies of famous films and public figures. Indian actor Satish Shah, 74, also died on the 25th. Like many of the above, he was mostly a comic actor, costarring in the TV series Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai, Ghar Jamai, and Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, and in many films. And Russian actor Aleksey Zolotnitskiy, 79, who also died this same day, appeared in 30-some movies and TV shows from the 1970s through 2001.
