Wayne Osmond, of the wholesome singing Osmond siblings, died of a stroke on Jan. 1. He was 73. In the late ’50s, he and three of his brothers were singing at Disneyland when they were discovered by Andy Williams’ father and slotted into his son’s stage and TV shows. He also acted in The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters and It Nearly Wasn’t Christmas. Wayne played guitar and drums, as well as singing with his siblings; he also wrote such songs as “Crazy Horses,” “Goin' Home,” and “Let Me In.” In the 1990s, he moved to Branson, Missouri, where he could carry on his career. With failing health in recent years, Wayne said that “My favorite thing now is to take care of my yard. I turn my hearing aids off, deaf as a doorknob, tune everything out, it's really joyful."
