
A whole quill of writers has keeled over dead! Bob Rosenfarb, 74, died on March 3. He wrote and/or produced such TV shows as Who’s The Boss?, Step by Step, St. Elsewhere, Cagney & Lacey, and The Golden Girls. “Those who knew him will remember his wit, his warmth and the unmistakable twinkle in his eye when he shared a story or told an outrageous joke,” his family wrote. Gary Dontzig, 79, died on Feb. 23; his credits include the Dan Quayle episode of Murphy Brown, as well as Suddenly Susan, Hannah Montana, and State of Grace; he also acted in The Waltons, Chico and the Man, One Day at a Time, Too Close for Comfort, and Laverne & Shirley. Alan Trustman, who died on Feb. 5 at age 95, wrote or cowrote The Thomas Crown Affair, Bullitt, and They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!, as well as writing novels and teaching writing at several universities. And Jeremy Larner, who died on Feb. 24 at age 88, won an Oscar for his screenplay for The Candidate, also adapting Drive, he Said, from his own novel.
