Dion Anderson, 1938 – 2026

Actor Dion Anderson, 87, died on April 26. Anderson was a regular on Days of Our Lives and Townies, and from 1982 through 2005 appeared in such films and TV shows as Kate & Allie, Murphy Brown, The Golden Girls, Dying Young, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Dream On, The Shawshank Redemption, Murder She Wrote, The X-Files, Will & Grace, and Gilmore Girls. Anderson served in in the US Army, and attended the University of Texas and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts; he also worked as a teacher and director. His family wrote that “His resume is extensive but Shawshank Redemption, Shakespeare's Henry IV, and Tennessee William's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof are some highlights. Hobbies included painting, music, love for nature and pets.”
