Émilie Dequenne, 1981 – 2025

Belgian actress Émilie Dequenne, 43, died of adrenal cancer on March 16. Dequenne won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for Rosetta (her first film, 1999); among her other film and TV vehicles were Brotherhood of the Wolf, Jean Moulin, The Light, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, A Song of Innocence, Charlotte Corday (in the title role), Our Children, The Missing, An Irrepressible Woman, and Double Foyer. Just last year, she appeared in Retro Therapy, Survive, and TKT. Dequenne also acted onstage, and was a member of the Theatre de la Releve. She is survived by her husband, actor Michel Ferracci.
