British actor Peter Heppelthwaite, 59, died on June 13. His family wrote, “After the most incredible fight, our epic dad passed away peacefully yesterday holding our hands. Everyone who knows dad will know that this is a man who never gave up, loved deeply, and was just unafraid of doing absolutely everything to the fullest. His life was shortened but immensely full of love, passion and determination that we will carry with us always.” The native Londoner costarred in the 2000s sitcom The Green Green Grass, and also had continuing roles in Hotel Getaway and Hardware; his one-off appearances included One Foot in the Grave, EastEnders, The Bill, Coupling, The Office, and My Family. His films included Sex ‘n’ Death, Why I Hate Karaoke, The Fabulist, and Mentally Healthy. He appeared on the West End in Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard, and A Slice of Saturday Night, and directed numerous shows as well. Hepplelthwaite co-founded the Limitless Academy of Performing Arts, “a vibrant, nurturing community for students from ages 6 to 86” (you 87-year-olds are out of luck).
